This Black and Decker RC3303 small rice cooker model is just like all of the other larger Black and Decker cookers, and is easy to use, easy to clean, and makes decent rice in a good time frame for a low price.
To be honest, that alone is enough for its review and pretty much sums it up...but for the sake of giving it a better review, let's go into some more detail than that.
First let us mention that at this present time we are unsure of the exact cup size of this unit. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope to update as soon as we secure accurate information regarding this model!
Update! This model is smaller than a 3 cup raw capacity cooker and seems to yield around 3 or 4 cups cooked rice.
This Black and Decker small rice cooker will make a quick bowl of delicious white rice and usually prepares it in around 20 to 25 minutes. Like all basic one lever rice cookers, all folks need to do is measure correctly, plug, and press a lever.
It's small size fits great on counter tops without taking up much space, and the stay cool handles allow folks to transport it to the table for easy serving. Granted the power cord is not removable or retractable so be sure and secure it while transporting.
When the rice is cooking, the user can monitor the food through the glass top lid which is a plus benefit since this cooker tends to crust the bottom layer of rice before kicking into the keep warm mode. Keep in mind that this is nothing major and is common with most cookers of this design.
Another small problem folks may experience is boil-over issues which is common with some rapid-boil style cookers as well..."see tips" in Navbar.
The Black and Decker RC3303 comes with a non-stick bowl for easy clean up, measuring cup, serving scoop, and manual. Like most rice cookers, the bowl has an inner water lever gauge for error-free measuring.
Pros
easy to use and clean
affordable
basic design should blend in most kitchens
cooks rice fast and is a real space saver
Cons
unit may crust bottom layer of rice and/or spit starch water out the sides
Due to the low price on this Black and Decker RC3303 model, folks will get what they pay for...which is just a decent, Fair-Rated small rice cooker.
We’re not saying it is a bad rice cooker, but do recommend folks compare it with other models that may be a bit more in cost, but worth the extra benefits before purchasing. See our “Best 3 Cup Cookers” page.
Furthermore, while the small size makes it great for singles and couples, folks with larger households may find the cup capacity too little, (see the RC426 or the RC866 models).
Overall it is a neat little cooker to have around for that occasional bowl of rice and while it may not be the best rice cooker available, it is not worst either!
