Top 3 Recommended Rice Cooker Brands?
What are the most recommended rice cooker brands available? On this page we have provided a short list on some of the best rice cooker brands/models we have come across during our research while creating this site. We hate to sound bias, so instead we just labeled common benefits & features associated with each brand.
Sanyo Rice Cookers If we had to recommended one rice cooker brand above all, it would be Sanyo, and for several reasons... First, they are budget friendly, especially the Fuzzy Logic units. Second, is that for the price folks are not only getting a well-built appliance, but a wide array of benefits and features as well. The overall rice quality is of a very good standard, and with many of their models folks also get slow cooking and steaming features too. They are easy to operate, offer a full line of cup capacities along with basic and mirco-computerized units, and will last for many years with proper care. All while producing consistent results.

Zojirushi Rice Cookers Another great recommended rice cooker brand is Zojirushi. These models are one of the most elite in the entire industry and produce fantastic results, whether it be white rice, brown rice, sushi, mixed, etc. The only two main reasons we feel Sanyo has a slight edge over Zojirushi is because they make more budget friendly and "kitchen friendly" models. What we mean by that is, most basic Fuzzy Logic Zojirushi models are priced around the same as a fully loaded Sanyo (ECJ-HC100S for example) and do not offer additional steaming or slow cooking benefits. All current Zojirushi rice cookers do is cook rice, and do not come equipped with the other bells & whistles mentioned above. In fact, some Zojirushi IH "GABA" models can sell as high as $350+ dollars! Granted the results for frequent brown rice lovers are worth it. In the end, Zojirushi makes very good recommended rice cookers and are definitely worth the price tag for folks who will get constant use out of one. We just feel that for the cost and average consumer, Sanyo is more practical. Especially for folks who want more than just a rice cooker.

Tiger Rice Cookers These cookers are great for folks who do not need all the fancy additional rice settings, and who can also do without steaming or slow cooking features, (although some models offer both). However, what we will focus on is their basic JNP series line that ranges anywhere from 3 cups to 10 cups. These cookers have a very good quality build and with proper care should last for many years. In fact we have come across reports of owners stating they have their Tiger JNP cooker going strong for over a decade without a drop in consistency. They are easy to use, come with non-stick bowls, and make good average quality rice with just the simple press of a lever. They will not cause boil-over issues as like some other cheaper rice cookers thanks to the sealed lid design and have a convenient condensation collector that will not cause water to drip on the cooked rice or down the unit when the lid is opened. Slight rice crusting may occur on the bottom layer but this will not alter or destroy the entire batch of rice and remains on the mild side compared to other cookers that cause more crusting. For the price, these are one of the best recommended rice cooker models when considering a basic one-lever unit.
