sanyo ecj-hc100 rice cooker and slow cooker

Price Range: High

Rice Quality: Very Good

Benefits & Features: Multiple

Performance: Excellent

Pros vs. Cons: Pros Outweigh Cons

Overall Rating: Excellent

Purchasing a Sanyo ECJ-HC100S is a wise choice and is the larger 10 cup version of the ECJ-HC55S model which also shares an Excellent review!

The unit offers a wide array of benefits and features, along with an easy to use digital display panel for easy menu selection making it one of the best rice cookers in its price range.

Cooking Rice

This Sanyo 10 cup rice cooker will make around 30 cups cooked moist and fluffy white rice which is good enough for feeding between 8 to 10 people.

The flavor and consistency of the rice always comes out great and there is little guess work involved. All the user has to do is add the correct instructed measurements, plug the unit in, and select the rice type by scrolling through the onboard menu. Folks even have the option to choose their rice texture! (white rice only)

The interface on the Sanyo ECJ-HC100S is quite simple and is not complicated.

While cooking, the Sanyo's micro computerized technology will automatically monitor the selected rice type and the extra thick titanium coating maintains even heat distribution. The days of under-cooked or over-cooked rice are history when using this machine.

Once the rice is complete, a signal will sound and the unit will switch to a warm mode allowing the rice to fluff, further enhancing the flavor and character as well as keeping it moist and at a ready-to-eat temperature.

Slow Cooking & Vegetable Steaming

Another great benefit folks will gain from this Sanyo model is the ability to slow cook stews, soup, sauce, and other meals. The rice cooker also comes with a steaming tray for vegetables, eggs, and tofu. Also included is a rice paddle, measuring cup, and recipe booklet featuring mouth-watering dishes from Professional Chef, Martin Yan.

The Sanyo slow cooking feature is of good quality and performs very well. The maximum cooking time is 12 hours with high and low temperature settings, and the user can also select specific times as needed.

We would also like to mention that the Sanyo ECJ-HC100S comes with two bowls...one for rice cooking, and one for slow cooking.

As with the rice cooking feature, the unit will sound when the slow-cooked meal is finished and switch to the warm mode until folks are ready to eat!

Overall, when you buy this Sanyo slow cooker (or rice cooker) you are going to get your money's worth! We believe that this is one of the best models Sanyo makes and is a great kitchen multi-tasker.

There is just that one little con about replacing the battery after about four years. This battery is what keeps the time running when the unit is unplugged. The cooker will still continue to work properly without it.

While we are not 100 percent sure, we believe that folks can purchase the battery and replace it themselves without having to ship the cooker out. However, keeping the unit plugged in will prolong the battery life.

If you're considering the Sanyo ECJ-HC100S rice cooker, quickly compare it to the ECJ-D100S for they share similar benefits and features.

Another Recommended Rice Cooker From Sanyo.
