Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 & 18

For cooking rice both the NS-ZCC10 & 18 use advanced monitoring technology known as Fuzzy Logic and will actually pay attention on how the rice is cooking instead of just boiling the water until the rice is finished as like some cheaper, more basic cookers.

In combination with the thick bowl which helps transfer heat more evenly, these Zojirushi Fuzzy Logic rice cookers will automatically adjust making fine changes to cooking time and temperature where and when needed.

The results from using either the Zojirushi NS-ZCC18 or NS-ZCC10 are great producing from what we’ve researched is very high quality above standard rice texture.

Settings

The specific rice variety settings on both these Zojirushi Neuro Fuzzy rice cooker models are: white rice, brown rice, sushi rice, mixed, sweet, and porridge.

When folks select the white rice setting, they are also given the option to choose regular, soft, or firm texture.

We would also like to mention there is even a quick cook rice setting for making faster rice, but with lowered quality as it skips the soaking setting and seems to bypass the "Fuzzy Logic" feature.

Zojirushi NS-DAC10

For a Zojirushi Neuro fuzzy rice cooker that is a little less expensive and for more regular plain white rice cooking, going with this unit is a pretty good idea.

Like the above NS-ZCC models, this rice cooker will monitor how the rice is cooking and make temperature and cooking time adjustments along the way. It has settings for white rice, sushi rice, mixed, porridge, and a quick cook setting as well.

From what we gathered the quality of the white rice is very good and has an above average texture. Just keep in mind this unit does not offer texture settings as like the above NS-ZCC18 & 10 models.

We should also make a note that there is no brown rice setting either, so folks are just stuck with making either white, mixed, or sushi rice. (although it can be adjusted to accommodate brown rice by just soaking the grains longer and making manual measurements accordingly).

The last thing to report on this Zojirushi Neuro fuzzy rice cooker is that currently there is only one bowl size available which is a 5.5 cup capacity that is good enough for yielding around 16 cups or so of cooked white rice.
