Zojirushi NS Rice Cooker Reviews

zojirushi ns rice cooker

On this page are reviews of the Zojirushi NS rice cooker models which include ranges in cup sizes along with basic and computerized units.

Overall, a Zojirushi rice cooker is a very good investment as they prepare high quality rice batches. They do lack other benefits & features, but make up for it in overall performance, ease of use, and a majority of positive consumer feedback.

(list subject to change as updates & new units become available)

Zojirushi NS-LAC05

This first Zojirsuhi NS rice cooker series model is a neat compact 3 cup capacity cooker that has earned a current 5 Star rating on Amazon.com and offers folks a lot for such a small cooker.

Aboard this rice cooker are settings for white rice, brown rice, and sushi rice, along with a quick cook setting.

Its fuzzy logic rice monitoring technology eliminates most of the guess work out of cooking very high quality rice as it automatically adjusts cooking time and temperature during the cooking process.

The unit is priced a little high but is perfect for those who have small counter spaces and who eat white and brown rice daily. Keep in mind that it will take a little longer for this machine to complete an entire batch of rice due to the programmed presoaking, but in the end many find the results are worth the wait.

There is also a preset timer aboard this unit as well allowing the user the ability to select when they wish to have the cooker to start.

Zojirushi NS-TGC10

This next NS Series model is a bit larger than the above unit and has a 5.5 cup capacity which is good for yielding around 16 cups of cooked rice.

It too uses fuzzy logic technology and the quality of both white and brown rice is above the standards of basic one lever rice cookers and/or stove top cooking.

While we wished it offered a slow cooking setting as like the Sanyo ECJ-HC55S cooker, for those who do not have a need for such a benefit will love how this cooker performs.

It has specific rice settings for white rice, brown rice, sushi, mixed, and porridge, and from what we gathered even has a special setting for preparing sponge cake.

It is pretty straight forward to use despite its technical first appearance, comes with a non stick bowl for easy serving and cleaning, and will last for many years with proper care.

Zojirushi NS-ZCC18

This next unit is the largest offered in the Zojirushi NS rice cooker lineup.

It has a 10 cup bowl capacity which can accommodate up to 30 cups of cooked white rice. Keep in mind these measurements are based on rice cooker cup sizes and not U.S. standard liquid or dry cup measurements.

The Zojirushi NS-ZCC18 is one of the most popular rice cookers on the market and like its cousins above receives a large majority of satisfied customer reports and feedback.

The cooker also offers settings for cooking white, brown, sushi, and mixed rice. It will presoak the selected variety for a fixed programmed amount of time and once the cooking process begins will automatically monitor how the rice is cooking ensuring folks get a delicious batch of rice that has great flavor and texture.

Once complete the NS-NCC18 will switch into a keep warm mode that will hold the rice at a warm ready to serve temperature. We should also mention the other above Zojirushi rice cooker NS models also have a keep warm mode.

This cooker has a modern look and feel, and will fit nicely with many kitchen decors. However it is recommended folks have some spare counter room since the cooker is a bit large.

Zojirushi NS-RNC10

For a more basic unit in the Zojirushi NS line, consider the NS-RNC10 simple one lever cooker.

This cooker does not use fuzzy logic technology to monitor how the rice is cooking, so overall rice quality is lowered. Instead the cooker will simply boil the rice until a sensor detects there is little water left before switching into its generous 12 hour keep warm mode.

However, this rapid boil process does mean folks will have a batch of rice done sooner than the fuzzy logic units above…usually in under 25 minutes or so (minus desired manual soaking time).

Once again, the rice quality is not as high as the other micro-computerized Zojirushi rice cooker NS models, but is still on par with average quality stove top cooked rice.
